- cook and learn from their peers while eating healthy and creative food. - develop skills that may inspire future careers in the culinary field. - acquire a sense of independence and self-sufficiency while doing something good and helpful for others. How can I put one together for my troop? Gather your troop of 10 or more girls and find some dates that will work for you. Contact Chef Amee about your ideas, location, and availability. She will help plan the menu and the rest of the details with you. What is does a class like this cost for my troop and how long does it last? I would like to offer a special discount price to all Girl and Boy Scout troops: $10/child for 1 hour and $15/child for 2 hours + the cost of minimal ingredients. (The regular hourly rate for cooking classes in the Phoenix area is about $30 or more.) A 50% deposit is required upon confirmation of date and menu. It will need to be sent to: Chef Amee Hoge, 2521 E. Fairbrook St., Mesa, AZ 85213 Extra supplies, tools, complete hands-on instruction, and recipe packets for each participant are provided by Chef Amee. “I wanted to say "thank you" again for such a fun and interesting cooking lesson. The girls had a blast learning from you! Your passion for cooking and teaching really showed and I appreciated it so much. Cooking with kids this age can certainly add some difficulties but I think the class was a success.” Thanks again, Leah Avery, Troop #1488 |
